The 13pc HSS Silver & Deming Drill Bit Set covers large hole sizes from 17/32″ to 1″ on a 1/2″ reduced shank, so you can drill big holes with a standard 1/2″ chuck drill motor instead of a larger machine. The bits are high speed steel and made to withstand high heat and friction during drilling, which keeps the cutting edge sharp and strong. All 13 bits store in a stained wood block.

Usage Guidance

• Speed: large bits need low RPM. Run slower as the size goes up, and use cutting fluid in metal.
• Drill choice: use a drill motor or drill press with enough torque for 1″ holes. Clamp the work securely.
• Feed: apply steady pressure and back out to clear chips. A pilot hole makes the larger sizes easier to start.
• Limits: HSS is for general-purpose drilling. For hardened steel or stainless, a cobalt Silver & Deming set is the better choice.
