Need a threaded hole without the dance between drill and tap? These Hi-Molybdenum Drill and Tap Combo Bits drill and tap with one tool. You get the right pilot and the matching tap in one continuous pass.

Built from Hi-Molybdenum tool steel for super long life, these bits are made to keep cutting job after job. The new self-centering helical point starts clean and gives you excellent drilling precision and extreme accuracy, so the hole lands where you put it.

One chuck-up keeps the hole and thread aligned. You don’t dig through a tap-drill chart or leave a pilot hole waiting while you change tools. That makes them great for on-site tapping in construction, maintenance, assembly, and production environments.

The tip drills the core hole sized for that thread. Keep going and the tap section cuts the internal thread. Keep the bit square, let the drill break through before you load the tap, then reverse out clean when you’re done.

National Coarse or National Fine. NC (UNC) is the everyday fastener thread for construction and fab work. NF (UNF) is the finer pitch for thinner stock and tighter engagement. The same diameter label isn’t the same bit: 1/4″-20 and 1/4″-28 are different tools.

Run them right Use them in through holes only and stay perpendicular. Use cutting oil and slow down before the tap engages. Reverse at low speed to back out. On thicker stock, clear the chips mid-tap, then finish.
