Left Hand Drill Bits for Broken Bolt Removal
A broken bolt can hold up an entire job. Our
Premium 13-Piece Left Hand HSS Drill Bit Set
gives you a practical first step for removing broken bolts and studs
in automotive repair, equipment maintenance, and everyday shop work.
These left hand spiral drills cut counterclockwise.
As the bit cuts into a broken fastener, its reverse rotation can help
loosen and back it out—sometimes eliminating the need for a screw
extractor. If the fastener stays put, the drilled hole can serve as
the starting point for an appropriately sized extractor.
This set includes 13 high-speed steel jobber-length drill bits
with a black and gold finish. Sizes range from
1/16″ through 1/4″ in 1/64″ increments,
covering a useful range for smaller broken fasteners.

how tightly the fastener is seized. If using an extractor,
follow its recommended drill size.
