3/16″ SDS-Plus Penetrator Drill Bit for Reinforced Concrete
The 3/16″ SDS-Plus Penetrator drills through concrete and embedded steel without requiring you to stop and change bits. It is engineered for reinforced concrete, rebar, steel decking, masonry, and stone where conventional carbide masonry bits struggle or fail.
A solid cross-head configuration combines laser-welded micrograin carbide with reinforced cutting flanks for excellent cutting strength and durability. The multi-cutter design distributes drilling forces across the head for smoother operation, reduced noise, and significantly lower hand-arm vibration.
Use the dropdown menu to select the required drilling depth and overall length.
Drills Concrete and Embedded Steel
The Penetrator allows uninterrupted drilling through:
- Reinforced concrete
- Embedded rebar
- Concrete over steel decking
- Concrete block and masonry
- Brick
- Natural stone
High-Performance Carbide Head

Fast Dust Evacuation
The generous high-helix flute entrance quickly moves concrete dust and drilling debris away from the carbide head. Its Sub-Trac spiral flute design helps prevent vacuum blowback while maintaining efficient dust evacuation throughout the hole.
Available Lengths
| Diameter | Length of Cut | Overall Length |
|---|---|---|
| 3/16″ | 2″ LOC | 4-1/4″ OAL |
| 3/16″ | 4″ LOC | 6-1/4″ OAL |
| 3/16″ | 6″ LOC | 8-1/4″ OAL |
| 3/16″ | 8″ LOC | 10-1/4″ OAL |
| 3/16″ | 10″ LOC | 12-1/4″ OAL |
LOC = Length of Cut | OAL = Overall Length
Operating Instructions
Use with an SDS-Plus rotary hammer in hammer-drill mode. When the drill bit encounters rebar or steel, maintain firm, steady pressure and allow the carbide cutting head to work through the obstruction.
Always maintain secure footing and follow all power-tool and jobsite safety requirements before drilling.
