Applications

• Hard steel: split point starts on contact and the tip geometry keeps heat and wear down.
• Sheet metal: self-centering start with no center punch and no walking.
• Brass and acrylic: clean, accurate holes.
• Hole enlarging: step up from a smaller hole without damaging the point.

Specifications

Using them

• Small sizes run fast. Drop the speed as the size goes up and in harder steel. Blue chips or squealing mean the speed is too high.
• Use cutting oil in steel. Keep the feed steady, because rubbing dulls the edge and work-hardens stainless.
• Mechanic length is built for rigidity, not reach. Use a longer bit for deep holes.
• These are HSS. For hardened steel or heavy stainless production, step up to cobalt or carbide.
